Couch Amp speaks both of Sony’s receiver control protocols:

  • Modern — Audio Control API (JSON over the network, port 10000): the full Couch Amp feature set, from sound fields and speaker trims to the input editor and firmware updates.
  • Classic — External Control (the RS-232-era binary protocol over TCP): power, volume, mute, inputs, and zones on ES receivers going back to 2010.

Verified means tested against real hardware; compatible means the model shares the same protocol family and firmware and is expected to work identically.

Don’t see your receiver?

If your Sony receiver has a network jack and an “External Control” or “IP Control” setting, there’s a good chance Couch Amp can talk to it — the app probes both protocols during discovery. Get in touch or try the manual IP entry in the app’s Find Receiver screen.
